Sunny Vegetable Salad

A delicious vegetable salad.

Another favorite recipe of my wife.



Ingredients

• 5 cups broccoli florets
• 5 cups cauliflower florets
• 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (8 ounce pkg)
• 2/3 cup onion, diced
• 1 cup mayonnaise
• 1/2 cup sugar
• 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
• 6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
• 1/4 cup sunflower seeds (optional)

Directions

• In a large bowl, toss broccoli, cauliflower, cheese and onion.
• In a small bowl combine mayonnaise, sugar and vinegar.
• Pour over salad; toss to coat.
• Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour.
• Sprinkle with the bacon and sunflower seeds, if desired.

VARIATION: Add 2 cups spiral macaroni may be added if you want a pasta salad.

  5. my gahd! Minues the mayo and bacon i think my vegan sister will love this! pwede ko to iprep for her! She cooks for me padin kasi even though she's vegan and i'm not. at least i can return the favor.

  6. If I were asked what vegetable I would want to eat for one year straight, my top pick would be broccoli flowers. They are easy to cook, delicious, and very nutritious (fight cancer). Great recipe!

  9. I love broccoli, actually my youngest daughter and I love it so much, especially added in a beef steak recipe...super yummy! This is another thing, a must try dish..kasi salad...not sure kung feel niya si broccoli maging salad.

  16. What a beautiful and healthy salad for a meal. I really like Balsamic vinegar with honey to get a slightly sweetish tangy flavour.
